Saggy pants and Blogging

Our bodies are truly one of the most amazing objects in the universe.  30 days ago I had my abdomen sliced in five different spots, super sharp cutty tools inserted, and a huge portion of my stomach lopped off and the rest sewn and stapled shut.   My wounds have healed up so nicely, I can sleep on my stomach once again, and I am up and moving about participating in all kinds of activities.  Except for when I eat or look at my tummy, I might not even know I was in a foreign land being sliced and diced last month.
In the past 30 days I have lost 35 pounds.  I had some touch and go moments (weeks) where I lost nothing at all and was becoming despondent.  When I stopped losing according to the scale, I tried on some jeans that were previously to tight to breathe in, and they were now zipping but still not wearable.  After 10 days of the scale not moving, I tried on the same jeans.  This is how they now fit me

Minus the diaper of course.  I am going to have to buy some cool looking undies, or maybe just some new jeans.

Eating has been interesting, I am still amazed at the small amount of food I can eat, but also that it fills me and I have no real hunger to speak of.  It has actually been difficult to get in the amount I am supposed to daily.  I have been trying hard to plan meals and cooking ahead of time.  I also realized that I am still making way to much food for the family since I am not eating what they do, or just tiny amounts compared to before.  There is a large amount of adjusting that has to be done, but things are slowly falling into place.

I start back to school today, fall quarter.  The next few weeks will be more adjusting, as I will have less time for cooking and planning.  It will be interesting to see how it goes.

My plans for this blog are to document my progression, the ups and downs, and have something to look back on when I get to where I am going.  Thanks for reading.
